Quiz Night Results

Here are the results of this year’s LACR Annual Quiz Night.
We were slightly down on attendance this year to approx. 75 quizzers in 18 teams. This is probably due to a number of factors, incl. covid, but still a good turnout. We have not held the quiz since 2020 and it was good to return to the club and meet up with everyone. My thanks to you all for supporting the evening, particularly those who had travelled some distance.
We managed to raise £357 holding the quiz and an additional £120 for the ‘in-house’ raffle, making a grand total of £477. This is a splendid sum to be able to forward to the Association. My thanks to all who donated raffle prizes.
It was fantastic to welcome a team of youngsters for the first time, The Lancashire Lads and Lasses. Well done for entering what was a quiz aimed at a certain generation! The scores were all very closely packed together, particularly at the top end, with new winners this year, which is great:

- 3rd Lancaster Bombers – 97
- 4th Tie – Roughyeds, St. Annes Squared – 94
- 6th Tie - Clapped Out (Goosnargh), Whittle Wingers – 92
- 8th The Peps – 89
- 9th Sorry I Haven’t A Clue – 88
- 10th The Old Bangers – 86
- 11th Tie – Hoghton Bottoms, Just Here For The Hotpot! – 85
- 13th Tie – Pat the Dog, The Lunes – 82
- 15th Norfolk In Chance – 79
- 16th Whittle-N-Guest – 71
- 17th Whittle Swingers – 69
- 18th The Lancashire Lads and Lasses – 56
There was a total of 130 points available. No-one achieved to score 10 bonus points in the Wipeout round, I take full responsibility for making it too difficult!
Finally, massive thanks are also due to my wife Liz, Diane and James for helping out on the night with the raffle etc., to anyone else who helped out, to all the bar staff and to Brownedge Catholic Club for the free use of the auditorium.
